Chicri Maksoud 10 December 1957- 3 February 2022
/0 Comments/in News/by Gaynor JohnsonIt is with sad news we inform the QAMT community that long standing executive member, past AAMT councillor and BBC teacher/Maths HOD Chicri Maksoud passed away 3rd February.
All of the QAMT executive and AAMT council are grateful for the wonderful memories we shared with Chicri and pass our deepest sympathies to his family and friends, as well as colleagues and students at BBC. Chicri was a true gentleman and will be missed.

Do you own a piece of Mathematical History?
It could be a slide rule, an early generation calculator, a photo of a classroom from year’s past or an historic journal etc.
This year is QAMT’s 100 year anniversary and we are looking to collate memorabilia (both physical and digital) of the last 100 years of Mathematics Education. This history will be shared on our website and on display at the State conference.
Please contact Michael Bulmer ([email protected]) about sharing your piece of history.
We have been looking through the State Library Archives and found that their set of QAMT journals only go back to the 1990s. So, we are also looking for any member that has earlier journals that we can scan to complete the collection.
