The Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers (QAMT) is a not-for-profit Professional association that supports all teachers of Mathematics, pre-service, primary, secondary and tertiary and across all sectors in Queensland.
Excitedly, the QAMT is seeking enthusiastic educators to join the State level executive.
Executive members convene once a month (online) to discuss, and vote on matters relating to mathematics education in Queensland as well as plan for Mathematics Professional Learning events, and student problem-solving events. Executive members have opportunities to lead sub-committees in areas of interest and attend events as convenors, supervisors and supporters.
Currently, there is an opportunity for 2 new executive members, with support available through mentoring if requested. All executive members must be individual QAMT members.
Alternatively, you may be interested in two further options:
-
- As a member of a subcommittee with a specific event or purpose (meet as required). These sub-committees include: Publications, State Conference, Professional Development (primary and secondary), Student Activities, Advocacy and Marketing; and
- Ex-officio executive member – may attend meetings and join in discussion (does not need to attend all meetings), but does not have a vote. This is a great way to get to know what being on the executive is all about.
